Russia cuts train gas exports by 26.5% in April up until now

Russia has reduced fuel exports by rail in April 114 by 26.5% from the exact same duration in March due to an export ban, according to market data and calculations.

Russia banned gas exports for six months from March 1 except to a Moscow-led financial union and some countries, with which it has direct inter-government agreements on fuel products, such as Mongolia.

In March alone, fuel exports halved from February to 323,000 metric heaps.

Russian fuel production has been dented by drone strikes from Ukraine, which states its attacks on Russia are warranted since it is defending survival and has actually suffered damage to its infrastructure from Russian air campaign.

In the first 2 week of April, the products by rail amounted to 65,553 loads, of which almost a third, or 19,082 loads were provided to Mongolia.

Kyrgyzstan got 17,208 lots of Russian fuel, Uzbekistan got 12,022 loads, while Tajikistan imported 11,633 tons.

Russia's seaborne oil product exports fell 4.2% in March from the previous month to 10.178 million lots due to unplanned upkeep at refineries and the export restriction.

In 2023, overall fuel output in the country reached nearly 44 million lots. In the very first quarter 2024 it stood at 11.1 million.
