Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, a hardliner viewed as a potential successor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was eliminated when his helicopter crashed in poor weather condition in mountains near the Azerbaijan border, officials and state media stated on Monday.
