New York says it is stagnating forward with 3 offshore wind farms

New York City State on Friday stalled three significant overseas windenergy tasks after General Electric Vernova changed the turbine style, which the state said materially modified the plans.

New York provisionally authorized the projects in October 2023. They listen Energy One being developed by TotalEnergies, Increase Light & & Power and Corio Generation; Neighborhood Offshore Wind, which is backed by RWE and National Grid Ventures; and Vineyard Offshore's Excelsior Wind.

However since then, GE Vernova decided to move from its 18 megawatt Haliade-X turbine platform to a smaller sized turbine.

This triggered industrial and technical complexities for the designers, the New York State Research Study and Advancement Authority stated in a declaration that revealed it would not sign last contracts.
